The following information was posted , Feb. 9th, 2006, to assist you in questions you might have as to snow conditions on the track and the legal questions about your sled registration for the Northeast Snowmobile Jamboree..

We know many people have not registered their sleds yet this year for there is very little snow in Maine this year to ride on. The State Law does allow you to bring an un-registered snowmobile to Hunnewell Valley or to any organized event with a valid State Permit to run the event.

DUE TO MATTERS BEYOND THE CONTROL OF HUNNEWELL VALLEY WE WILL NOT BE RUNNING THE NORTHEAST SNOWMOBILE JAMBOREE THIS 2007 SEASON. A SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE THAT HAVE ENJOYED THE JAMBOREE IN PAST YEARS.

There are limited area to get good trails in Maine but north of Rangeley, the Jackman/Rockwood and north to the County you can find some good trails.

If you like - make copies of the following letter for your reference.

Report on the 2006 Northeast Snowmobile Jamboree

A beautiful sunny day - tempertures climbed from a low of 5 above to race time of 40degrees.
The track held super all day. Racers and fans came from three States but our numbers were cut because those coming from NH and VT were reporting their areas were brown (no snow).
It was brown over most of Maine too and even 5 miles south of Hunnewell Valley was brown.
But Hunnewell Valley always seems to pull through, it looked like winter and those that did come had some good racing.
We thank all and our sponsors.

How did Hunnewell Valley keep the track for racing with so much rain in the area?

Expecting an open winter the following two pieces of equipment was used to save what little snow we did have.
The old fashion way - Roll it and pack it!

The results - a heavy ice base of frozen packed snow-

As you can see, Hunnewell Valley is white- May not be what we wanted but because of how we prepared, it could be the best racing so far in Maine this year.

Remember, if 500 people show up, one of the 500 will take home that Solar Battery Booster

A few discount tickets may still be available at our sponsor location - go to our home page and click on promotions to find where to get them. Tell a friend about the event and see you all Saturday morning, Feb. 11th
