2008 Mud Run Classifications

Note - These Classifications will be used at

other Mud Runs in Maine this year.

These classifications have been developed over the last 25 years and
are designed to make Mud Running fun and affordable for anyone.
Because of the years taken to develope there is little if no change from
year to year which makes it easier for racers to build and maintain their
unit.

(1) see Class 6 - Cut tire have been removed

We have found the Classifications of Hunnewell Valley mate well with
racers that come from other regions to enjoy the challenge and fun
of the Might Big Pit. Come and we will have a Class you fit.

All Classes

SAFETY Front & rear tow hooks. All drivers and passengers must have arm restraints
(example - door with window up - window safety net - arm restraining straps). Any
modified body or frame combination must have four point roll cage attached to frame.
All open or soft top stock vehicles must have a roll bar. All vehicles must have working
brakes. On board fire extinguishers advised.

Class 1

STREET LEGAL - Any vehicle that has a valid license and inspection sticker. Street
Legal Class trucks are only allowed to run in Street Legal.

Class 2

4X4 FACTORY STOCK VEHICLES 4-6-8 CYL -No engine, body or chassis
modifications. Only unaltered D.O.T. tires up to 34 inches in height. No exhaust pipes
through the hood. Air breather modifications allowed.

Class 3

UNLIMITED 2W DRIVES - Any tire combination, more than four tires allowed.
Engine and chassis modification are allowed. Any 4X4 must remove or disengage front drive shaft/axle. No stock tractors.

Class 4

4X4 - 4 AND 6 CYL, UP TO 1 TON - Headers and other engine modifications are allowed. Only unaltered D.O.T tires up to 36.5 inches in height. Lift kits and body modifications are allowed on stock frames and suspension. Traction bars allowed.
NO Nitrous Oxide or Alcohol Fuel, no blowers allowed. No link or ladder suspension allowed. Engine set back allowed on an engine conversion. Measure center of motor to center of front axle. Center of motor is defined as 1/2 the distance of the furthest point between front and rear of head or heads.

Class 5

4X4 - 8 CYL UP TO 1 TON (Same as Class 4 except engine size)

Class 6

SUPER SWAMPER - Engine, carburation and chassis modifications allowed. Only uncut D.O.T. tires up to 44 inches in height. More than four tires Allowed. No Blowers.

Class 7

SUPER UNLIMITED VEHICLES - Any combination of equipment and tires.

Powder Puff

A CLASS FOR LADIES ONLY - Class 1 through 4 will run together. Class 5 through 7 will run together. This is your class Ladies. If you are a seasoned (experienced) racer Ladies can run in the standard classes.

A vehicle only runs once in a class but can run again in another class if
it does not go over the requirement of the class . This is a daily rule.
This rule is to maintain opportunity to race, fairness to competition
and fairness to the Fan.

WARNING - DRINKING, DRUGS AND UNSPORTSMANS BEHAVIOR
BY THE RACER OR THE PARTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE RACER
MAY DISQUALIFY RACER OR BE REASON TO EXPELL FROM THE EVENT.
