8-23-07 Special thanks to all who spread the word that there was a 2007 4x4 Jamboree
when Hunnewell Valley could not due to the information explaining on this page It is the first time since the wipe out of 2003 that we had people return in numbers to our beautiful camping areas. The show increased about 12% but still 50% under where we should be. Also thanks for not bringing alcohol to the event. Those that did try to bring it in lost it . We are sorry to have had to take it from you but we advertise...you bring you lose. The show runs smooth and friendly with no alcohol and grounds are 95% cleaner. Watch this page for a list of those attacking the event you enjoy. And remember - you have to spread the word about the upcoming Events. THANKS The year 2003 - Saturday night of the New England 4x4 Jamboree In 2001 and 2002 Hunnewell Valley contracted the Somerset County Sheriff Department to handle security at Hunnewell Valley Events and to stamp out the abuse of alcohol to make it a safe and enjoyable place to come. The Sheriff's Department did a good job and because of getting rid of alcohol abuse the 2003 was the lagerest attendance ever.............but was destroyed by the then negligence of the Sheriff's Department and their over reaction. 1. In 2003 the Sheriff's Department was not watching areas Hunnewell Valley asked and expected them to cover. 2. Because of the negligence of security, alcohol was sneaked into the event and trouble exploded. 3. The Sheriff detail then went to the area where they should already have been to correct the problem. 4. We can only guess the Sheriff's Detail became frightened and probably called out on their radios for help! 5. Problem was the Sheriffs did not call Guy Hunnewell as instructed by Hunnewell if a problem came up. 6. All of a sudden State Troopers with Dogs and more Sheriff vehciles swarmed into Hunnewell Valley, racing through our camping area, into our vendor area and every where Hunnewelll Valley restricted to a minimum and did not want traffic. It was a miracle someone was not hit by a cruiser or bitten by a dog. The result of the "ZOO" that night in 2003 has created about a $100,000 loss of income to Hunnewell Valley and it's New England 4x4 Jamboree each year since. I don't blame anyone for not coming back to the event but we need our fans and competitors back. The Sheriff's Department is NOT doing security again. They have caused enough problems. WE HAVE A PRIVATE FRIENDLY SECURTY GROUP TO SERVE NOW. LEAVE THE ALCOHOL AT HOME COME AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND. |
| Why is Hunnewell Valley offering $1,000 when 1,000 people order advance weekend tickets?
It's simple, we want the 1.000 weekend people back to enjoy the event and take advantage of the free camping. Because of what the Sheriffs did, Hunnewell Valley has no funds to advertise so we must depend and hope each one of you reading this will order your advance tickets now and most important tell others so we might get our attendance back and have the pleasure of giving someone $1,000. It's in your hands. We'll bring you a great show but need you to bring back our people. |
